wasn't expecting a sketchy linework work so well with a smooth coloring, but it does.
Love the contrasting values and grayscale coloring, it really sets the mood here.

i think pasting everything together in the same layer paid off since it helped to incorporate that mess of the lineart, plus scribbly textures on the coloring might have helped a little bit too
not only you character dessign is incredibly creative and badass, but I love the little descriptions you give them.
hey thanks! twitter has gotten me to keep it really lean and try and add some mystery as well.
*highfives
Fantastic color composition as always.
The animation looks quite fluid! The style is pretty neat too, feels old school and modern at the same time.
I'm usually not a huge fan of transparent brushes in pixel art as I feel it goes against the purpose of working on a limited palette and whatnot but damn, you really managed to make that work here! excellent job!
Ignoring the fact that it gets past the 16 color limit, that dithering gives me some neat pc98 vibes.
There's some banding in some areas (mainly, the humans' arms, but making arms without banding is hard so it's not a major issue) and the shading feels inconsistent in some parts (the contrast between the dithering in the floor and walls vs the much cleaner shading in the couch's arm rest), but it's a very solid piece anyway.
Thank you! I appreciate the in depth critique. The piece definitely has its issues, largely due to some heavy experimenting during the creating process on my part, but I learned quite a bit from it so overall I'd call it a success.
The contrast of the colors here makes it feel like something out of a comic.
Wasn't expecting this one to be animated... wow, even though it's a simple animation it was a very pleasant surprise.
Absolutely love all the wrinkles in the character's body, not only they generate this contrast (yes I love contrasting things contrast is amazing in visual art) with the tunic, the floating eye and flat color bg, but they make the body feel more... well, gross and eldritch, which is fitting for the guy.
Gotta love that squarey angular style and the contrast between grayscale and the bright red cloak of the character, it kinda gives me off a Gorillaz vibe even though I gotta admit I don't know a lot about gorillaz (but I guess it makes sense since i see you commented jamie Hewett's artwork was an inspiration to you).
Fantastic job!
God, I used to really love this boss back when undertale first came out, I think I even replayed the game a couple of times just to get that fight again, this painting really captured his essence.
Lurker mostly, I like music, pixel art and horror art. Sometimes I create content too.
English isn't my native language so sorry in advance if I sound ruder than intended.
